CA Gaurav Kenkre

CA Gaurav Kenkre is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over a decade of experience in practice. He specializes in Goods and Services Tax, with other areas such as Transfer Pricing and Income Tax.

He has experience across industries right from Manufacturing, Trading, ITeS, Hospitality and Tourism.

He is a regular speaker, having delivered over 150 seminars on various topics. On VAT and GST itself, he has conducted over 125 seminars for various bodies including Goa Govt Departments, Goa Institute of Public administration and Rural development - Confederation of Indian Industries, GIPARD, Goa University, BCAS, Multi-national Companies, Goa Branch of ICAI, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Banking Institutions, Educational Institutions, and Listed Entities. He is a faculty for the All-India level GST Certificate Course and for Workshop on GST Dispute Mechanism conducted by ICAI. He is a faculty at the GMCS and Orientation courses conducted by the Goa Branch of ICAI.

He has authored articles on GST for newspapers and national tax publications like Taxmann, TaxSutra.com, TaxGuru.in etc. He has authored papers such as: Analysis of elements of a Composite Supply, and is a co-author of the paper: GST issues in Hospitality Industry. He has designed and conducted GST certificate courses for students in various colleges of Goa. He is the co-author of the book “Compendium of Industrial Policy for MSMEs in Goa” released by ICAI. He is regular columnist in publications like Incredible Goa and The Goan newspaper. He has also assisted various organizations in drafting VAT and GST related representations to resolve issues faced by the industry. He is a frequent panelist on TV channel debates in Goa relating to taxation.

He leads the Taxation vertical in Laghu Udyog Bharati Goa and is also a 4 term member of the GCCI Taxation Committee, besides being in its Education Committee for the term 2023-25. He is also a member of the executive committee of Laghu Udyog Bharati Goa.

He has had a stellar academic record. He was ranked 2nd in Goa at the Higher Secondary Examinations of the Goa Board and secured 99 marks out of 100 in Accountancy. He completed his Diploma in Information Systems Audit with ICAI in 2014. He completed his Certificate Course on Valuation with ICAI in 2016 and his Certificate Course on GST with ICAI in 2018. He completed his Certificate course on BRSR with ICAI in 2024. He is currently pursuing his LLB degree in V M Salgaocar College of Law.

Besides professional practice, CA Gaurav Kenkre has played an active role in various other bodies. He is the Past Chairman of the Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI (year 2022-23). Under his chairmanship, the branch won the 2nd best branch award in entire western region for both the members and students category.

He was also the Vice-Chairman (Goa) of the Managing Committee of the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (Western Zone) for 2022-23. He is a co-opted member of the GCCI Taxation Committee.

At his Alma Mater, SS Dempo, College of Commerce and Economics, he is the Chairman of the Alumni Committee, member of the Finance Committee and was a Member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. He is one of the founder members of the Confederation of GST Professionals and Industries (CGPI), a Pan India body of GST professionals. He has been appointed as “Sherpa” for state of Goa, by the Bombay Chartered Accountants Society.

He was also the President of the Rotary Club of Dona Paula in the year 2023-24. He was the District Committee Chair for Public Speaking in Rotary District 3170 in 2024-25. In 2025-26 he is the Community Service Director and the TRF chair.
